Electrification of the facility
No one can imagine of functioning a clinic or hospital without continuous and adequate power supply. Electric power supply to this location is irregular and inadequate. Power cuts for prolonged periods seriously affect functioning of the facility. Government cannot make a priority of investing for supplying power in this area because it is a rural area and does not have any industry.
The options are:
- A diesel power generation system
- A solar power generation system
The Foundation has already procured a 10KVA diesel generator.
The cost and regular supply of diesel for running the generator for prolonged periods and maintenance cost prove problematic for the organization.
The solar power is an emerging technology and getting popular day-by-day. Some buildings of the campus and the indoor hospital have modest solar room lighting facility. Ten solar street lights have also been installed.
